The Fire Team

The Fire Team is by far the busiest of all PERT groups, averaging almost three-quarters of all calls.  The majority of Fire Team responses involve grass fires or brush fires, but they also respond to timber fires and vehicle fires.  PERT does not provide structural fire suppression due to the Sheriff’s statutory responsibilities for wildland fire coupled with the realities of response time and equipment.  The Fire Team has successfully protected structures from encroaching wildland fire, and consequently, has an interest in urban wildland interface issues.

Please check the Areas of Response map below to check for your fire coverage.
